TOPIC FOR CLUBNIGHT-
Niol has kindly agreed to talk to us about rejoining procedures, in view of the proposed addition of the Roskill Model Aircraft Club strip to the seaward boundary of the main runway. (Hope that's ok, Niol!) As club safety officer, Niol has had his thinking cap on to devise suitable changes to our (already non-standard) rejoining procedure with the anticipated presence of model aircraft at 400 feet within our circuit.

PREZ SEZ-
As you may have heard, the club has purchased all of the shares of the Training Bantam ZK-FVG. This was by mutual agreement of the majority of the parties involved. Peter Cole has bought a Bantam of his own and had no further need of a share in the club's. I am sure he will get many hours of flying out of it soon!
While in the hanger I came across the founder's trophy languishing in a locker. I believe this club has not presented this trophy for a year or two. PLEASE if you have a trophy that was presented to you, could you return them ASAP to a committee member, or let me know where it is and we can have some fun presenting them at a forthcoming meeting.

COMMITTEE
A big thankyou to both David Horton and Richard Izard who have made donations to ARMAC or PPAB.
Mike Collins has agreed to replace Bob Syron as a PPAB representative.
GOOD NEWS from PPAB. Due to the increase in member's levies received from both ARMAC and SAA, they have waived landing fees for non-resident aircraft operated into Pike's Point by members of either club. Fees still apply to non-members, and if you have been sent an account, you still have to pay it.

FAREWELL
A long-serving member of the Northland microlight fraternity Bruce Lambess recently passed away after a long illness. He also served on the RAANZ executive, and was an agent for Challenger microlights. The ARMAC committee and members who knew Bruce extend their sympathy to Bruce's family in their loss.

TRAINING-

We keenly await Willie Morton's return in a week or two to reactivate the Club's training program.

NEWS- with contributions from Jon Farmer.
I reckon we can be proud of the clubrooms. In particular, the canopy looks great. Chris swung on one side & I swung on the other (not both together) and it is still up. We have now had four good working bee days and the results are obvious. We hope all members will come and enjoy the use of the clubrooms. All it needs now is a well-stocked beer fridge!
A fair number of aircraft flew in indifferent weather on Sunday- even Peter Cole turned up & ran his engine!
Also, several potential new members have come by during the working bees and have been invited to meetings and given membership forms. Please feel free to do likewise if you are ever at the field when someone new shows up.
We need a new sign at the front gate. Is there anyone who can help with signwriting? Please let the editor know.
A draft agreement is being worked on by PPAB and the Roskill Modellers. There are marker pegs in the ground, so if you come in daylight you can see where the proposed boundary is to be. Roskill put in a very professional proposal which was presented at the last meeting.
We now have a new mower. It weighs ¾ tonne and levels the ground as well as cutting and rolling the grass. (Perhaps we can rent it out to the modelers eh!-Ed)
We are watching with baited breaths the installation of the new stone crushing plant at the Western end of the runway in case it encroaches on the approach path. Dust may be a nuisance in a Westerly wind. (One gets the feeling someone is really trying to make life difficult!)
The toilet door padlock has had its combination changed so it is the same as the main gate. If you don't know it then you should come to the next meeting!

P.S. Re-Royal Flying Corps Wireless Operating- (or Don't You Hate Radio Procedure?)
Glad you enjoyed it, Jim!

And that's all for now.

Martyn
